Deportation Orders for African Migrants



The migrants from South Sudan are the first to be deported under Israel’s emergency plan. Many of these migrants have been working in hotels and restaurants or have been working as day labor. There are approximately 60,000 African migrants who are deemed illegal and a threat to the Jewish state. Many of these migrants live in South Tel Aviv. They are Christian and speak a number of languages.

An Eilat hotel director said the expulsions were "a terrible shame". "Most of them are educated people who fled from a bloody war in their homeland.”
